As a designer on the project my primary design role was the spa area. I aslo assisted in the documentation from schematic through design development of the guestrooms and reception & function building.

Along with the master-planning and space-planning concepts, the architecture takes inspiration from traditional Balinese architecture, color, materials and arts and crafts. These inspirations are then crafted together with a fresh breath of contemporary ideas and interpretations that exude luxury, elegance and sophistication. Along with the client’s affection for wood as a building and furniture material, we aimed to find a good balance to meld these inspirations together and offer a fresh Balinese vacation experience for InterContinental’s guests.
